What is a Countable Noun?

Countable nouns are for things we can count using numbers. They have a singular and a plural form.Â

What is an Uncountable Noun?

Uncountable nouns are for the things that we cannot count with numbers. They have no plural form.

 For Instance:Â

               a. Five Apples

               b. Four Bananas

               c. One Tomato

 For Instance:Â

               a. Water

               b. Milk

               c. Cheese

You can ask How Much To Identify Countable Nouns

For Instance:

             a. How many newspapers do you read every day?”

             – Here the answer will be countable hence Newspaper is                a countable noun.Â

You can ask How Many To Identify Uncountable Nouns

For Instance:

             a. How much coffee do you drink?

             – Here the answer will be uncountable hence Coffee is                  an uncountable noun.Â

We use a few, few, many, some, every, each, these, and the number of for countable nouns

             b. These Books     Â

             c. Many Flowers   Â

We use some, any, enough, this, that, and much

  For Instance:Â
